Yoga??????????????

does anyone use yoga?

how has it helped you?

and what kind of yoga do you do?|||I orginally started Yoga because of my poor posture (I tended to hunch forward). 3-4 years later, I achieved better posture in addition to other benefits:

- better flexibility

- better balance - I can hike more efficiently now, esp. in uneven surfaces. When I play volleyball, I land with more control.

- less back ache

- more productive sleep

Other benefits that I believe are there include:

- detoxification: deep stretches tend to %26#039;wring out%26#039; the lactic acids in the muscles. I think there are less toxins floating around in my body overall now.

- more upper body strength without weight training; however, I am still not convinced that Yoga can give you the same upper body strength as weight training, so I still do weights.|||yes i do some do yogic esxercise relating to breathing(praynama)

if done under proper guidance these yogic exercises can prove good for wait loss and strengthens one%26#039;s immune system.|||Yes I do. I use Yang-Minyasa yoga and OH. MY. GOD. Does it work! I am more relaxed, I have less pains in my back, I sleep better, and I learned so much on the way.

If you want a video to start out: Hot Body Cool Mind

Is a really amazing video. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it.|||Dear

Yoga is the best form of excercise which tones both body and mind. Dont try DIY kit type - proper guidance is a must - at least 3 days training required to get the correct postures. Discuss with the trainer and learn only a few things which u can do, and do it REGULARLY.

I am doing this for a long time, keeping weight at 75kg, height 175cm, eats lots of food, and enjoying life.|||I used to do Iyengar yoga but now do Ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga additionally teachers you how do breath. I highly recomment it.

I also do mobility drills every morning for my joints.

Results are a much better posture and a fealing of wellbeing. I used to need massages; want to treat myself to a movie etc. I find now that I never need a massage anymore; and I feel so good just walking down the street, that the last thing I want to do is stay seated indoors.|||I do Hatha Yoga and I love it! I%26#039;ve been doing it for a very short time but I do 35 minutes everyday and in the first week I lost 2 pounds....it%26#039;s fun too|||I started doing yoga because I wanted to be more flexible and to help my back. I remember I was nervous about going to that first class. I started with basic Hatha yoga and just fell in love with yoga. Since then, I have tried all kinds of yoga, including hot yoga, power yoga, ashtanga yoga, kundalini, etc. I go 2-3 times a week, now, mostly to power yoga. Here%26#039;s what it%26#039;s done for me:

-went from size 8 to size 4

-went from being very inflexible to very flexible

-back pain is gone

-energy is way up

-sleep better at night

-entire body is toned and strong

-have more patience - with myself, my body, with others

-can do awesome handstands

It%26#039;s really the only exercise routine I%26#039;ve ever enjoyed enough to keep up with. I highly recommend it.|||i do!!!!! well im not as tense, i lose weight, plus i can balance easily and i am more flexible. i do japanese yoga. its called

Yoga is the best and most time-tested path to physical and mental well-being known to mankind. While some people think of yoga simply as physical exercise, it is actually a complete system for overall health and well-being. It includes everything from physical postures, personal hygiene, and a healthy diet to premeditation, breathing, and relaxation techniques. The most advanced forms of meditation and self-realization are also a part of yoga. Wai Lana鈥檚 workouts focus on yoga鈥檚 physical techniques.

Why do yoga?

Like many forms of exercise, yoga asanas effectively stretch and strengthen your body. The greatest benefits of yoga asanas, however, come from their profound effects on the internal systems of the body. By bending, stretching, twisting, and flexing in the various postures, you bathe your internal organs with oxygenated blood and prana, also known as life force energy or chi. Yoga asanas soothe and tone your nerves and regulate the endocrine system, which is responsible for the production of hormones鈥攐ne of the keys to both physical and mental health. They also improve digestion and elimination, strengthen the respiratory system, and tone the reproductive organs. Although yoga techniques like asanas, breathing, and relaxation are extremely effective in relieving stress, it is Yoga Sound meditation that relieves deep-seated stress and anxiety, enabling you to experience yoga%26#039;s greatest gifts: spiritual happiness and inner peace.

It would be difficult, if not impossible, to find anyone who has had as much influence as Wai Lana in increasing the worldwide appreciation of the beauty and benefits of the ancient art of yoga. Wai Lana%26#039;s internationally aired TV series attracts a huge audience and has played a significant part in the skyrocketing popularity of yoga. Click here to read Wai Lana鈥檚 biography.

What is Pilates?

Derived from ancient yoga asanas, the Pilates exercise system was formulated by Joseph Pilates over 80 years ago for more specific and limited purposes. Although Pilates is not a complete balanced or holistic exercise and health system, it is quite useful. Pilates focuses mainly on cultivating core strength in the body and lengthening the spine. Practiced for decades by dancers, Pilates has become popular in recent years for its largely aesthetic body sculpting effect. Pilates can be a valuable tool for enhancing strength, definition, and good posture in partnership with Wai Lana Yoga. Click here to explore Wai Lana%26#039;s Pilates Yoga line of products

Guidelines for yoga and Pilates practice:

鈥?Yoga postures, especially inversions and those that compress the abdomen, should not be done on a full stomach. Listen to your body鈥攊f you practice too soon after eating or drinking, certain poses will feel uncomfortable.

鈥?It鈥檚 best to practice yoga asanas barefoot, using a yoga mat or nonslip surface for standing poses. A mat, rug, or folded yoga blanket will provide firm padding for other asanas.

鈥?Wear comfortable clothing, something that allows you to move freely.

鈥?Ideally, the room should be well ventilated. Have enough space to extend your arms and legs in all directions without hitting anything.

鈥?While practicing, concentrate on the feeling that the asana is producing in your body.

鈥?If you feel too weak or shaky in a pose, come out of it. Gradually, you will build up your strength and be able to hold the pose longer.

鈥?Don%26#039;t go beyond your personal limitations, but extend your boundaries gently. Doing the asanas correctly means doing them to the best of your ability without straining.

鈥?Throughout the workout, focus on your breath, inhaling and exhaling fully and completely through your nose. Breathing with awareness not only feels good, but also balances and regulates energy flow within the body, strengthening your internal organs and boosting your resistance to disease.
